CW Efficiency

Why Is CW Efficient?

by Walt Fair, Jr., W5ALT

Someone might think this is another feeble attempt to sell CW to non-believers because it seems to work. Sorry, but that isn't the case. In studying ways to advance the state of the art, I've found that it is useful to fully understand why things have worked in the past and then use that as a basis for designing things that work better. Since CW has a proven track record in terms of efficient communications, it seems worthwhile to figure out exactly why that is. Once we understand why CW works so well, then maybe we can design something that will work even better.
